Renewable energy especially by photovoltaics globally is on the rise. But do we have enough space to power a sustainable future? Building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) hold a promising future to solve this issue. But up to date there is no solution which fulfills all needs for building integration of solar modules. With ColorQuant we offer a solution that brings customized coloring of solar modules with bright colors applied by an industrial ceramic screen printing process on glass. At the same time the efficiency loss is low, like it typically is with dielectric layers, maintaining the efficiency of colored modules as high as 95%. ColorQuant combines the advantage of the existing solutions for coloring and hiding solar modules resulting in the best cost/performance ratio enabling a new area of solar module installations not being feasible before.

About the speaker:
I started my passion for solar in 2009 in the R&D area of Merck, KGaA, Dar mstadt on paste development for photovoltaics. After some years in R&D I moved to the strategy and strategic business development of optoelectronic materials where I could see a lot of different technologies. In 2017 I moved to our pigments and surface solutions department where we developed our ColorQuant technology and where I am currently responsible for Business development and strategy.
