Products like foldable smartphones and rollable displays are currently entering the market. Ultrathin glass opens up a lot of design possibilities. This paper presents an overview of different automotive application options and shows critical test results like stone impact, ball drop tests and climate change tests of laminated ultrathin glass. Following these robustness tests design limits for ultrathin glass are derived. The work was done within the framework of the publicly funded German BMBF-project KODOS.
