Short Bio:Peng Shou, as a famous Chinese expert in glass new material technology field, is the 23rd president of International Commission on Glass. He has been working at the front line of glass engineering technology since 35 years ago, contributing to the scientific research, design, and industrialization of glass. Under his auspices, nearly 10 research projects have been completed, covering 973 Program, 863 Program, and National Sci-Tech Support Plan. He has directed and developed 5 national standards, obtained 37 patents for invention, and published 4 monographs and over 80 articles. He has been dedicated to meeting the major strategic demands in glass new material industry. He has led his team to contribute to the birth of the PV glass technology and industry in China, and the development of world’s thinnest 0.15mm glass substrate for touch screen and China’s first 0.2mm ultra-thin TFT LCD glass, breaking the technological monopoly of foreign countries and bridging the gap in China. All these efforts help to develop the electronic information glass industry as well as safeguard the optical-electronic information industry in China. As the first accomplisher, he has been the winner of the second prize of National Prize for Progress for Science and Technology for 3 times and the gold winner of National Excellent Engineering Design. What’s more, He has obtained the scientific and technological innovation prize of Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation, Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award, Excellent Engineer Award and Technology Achievement Award of Anhui Province.
