Mathias Klaiber

    Short Bio: Dr.-Ing. Mathias Klaiber, Manager Technical Solutions at Josef Gartner GmbH, holds a diploma in Mechanical Engineering. After his PhD studies at the University of Stuttgart, he worked as a development engineer in the field of semiconductor manufacturing. At Gartner he manages all research and development related topics. He focuses on energy efficiency (Closed Cavity Façade) and new innovative technical solutions as well as the improvement of existing ones.

Hans Jansen

    Company: Scheldebouw
    Short Bio: Hans Jansen is a lead concept designer at Scheldebouw Permasteelisa and responsible for project cladding design during pre-sales, sales, tender and execution.

Russell Cole

    Company: Arup Facade Engineering
    Short Bio: Russell has a background in façade and structural engineering and specialises in the design, assessment and construction of all types of façade systems for a broad range of buildings, façade systems and materials. Having been based in Asia for many years he is now based in London. The areas of investigations and resolution of failing facades also form a large part of his work.

Erwin Trommer

    Company: Frener & Reifer GmbH/Srl
    Short Bio: Fundamental engineering education and scientific work as research associate allowed Erwin Trommer to develop a profound knowledge and understanding of various aspects within the modern building skin. Experienced in design development, building physics, structural engineering, material testing, certification and specification management he accompanies complex façade projects. Having worked for internationally acknowledged curtain wall contractors he today is responsible for the corporate technical approach within Frener&Reifer’s project development.

Richard Collins

    Company: University of Sydney
    Short Bio: Richard Collins initiated the VIG research program at the University of Sydney in 1988, and led it until his retirement in 2000. During this period, he managed the University's collaboration with Nippon Sheet Glass that resulted in the development of Spacia. He continues to interact closely with both organisations. He has authored or coauthored many VIG patents and papers. He is an enthusiastic woodworker, writer and amateur musician.

Martien Teich

    Company: Seele
    Short Bio: Martien is heading the Structural Engineering Team at seele responsible for all-glass- and steel-glass-structures. He has been with seele for more than 6 years. He has a PhD in blast engineerig where he developed energy dissipating devices for cable facades. He also teaches shell structures at the University of the German Armed Forces at Munich.

Stefam Marinitsch

    Company: Seele GmbH
    Short Bio: A civil engineer by training, I specialized in structural engineering and the revitalization and refurbishment of structures. Following more than a decade with a specialist contractor, delivering steel and glass structures with prototype character, I joined sedak to work on the fringe of structural glass design and research. Following an excursion into consultancy I returned to seele, contributing again to their R&D team.

Daniel Vos

    Company: Heintges & Associates
    Short Bio: Daniel Vos is a registered architect in New York State and an Associate Partner at Heintges & Associates, a full-service architectural building envelopes consulting firm. His expertise in structural glass design and knowledge of building energy performance contribute to the design and realization of innovative and environmentally responsible high performance building enclosures. Mr. Vos also teaches at Columbia University GSAPP where he is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Architecture.

Mick Eekhout

    Company: Octatube Space Structures b.v.
    Short Bio: Worked with Frei Otto and Renzo Piano. Founder (1983) and director of Octatube, Delft-NL, a d&b company for lightweight structures, with reliable glass coverings, later self supporting glass structures. Chair of Product Development in Architecture, TU Delft, (1991). Specialist in development of concepts into material solutions, prototypes and certifications via his design & development methodology in the Prototype laboratory. He wrote many articles and books.

Bernard Savaëte

    Company: Founder, BJS.Différences
    Short Bio: Bernard Jean Savaëte (Engineer - 71 years) has created BJS.Différences in 2004 He worked with French BSN, and then with American PPG, from 1981. His last position was Director Quality for PPG Glass Europe. BJS.Différences provides worldwide consulting services (mainly in market survey & market analysis) for glass in building, industry, car & solar businesses. Bernard Jean Savaëte is also expert in glass history and companies history.
